Cara Ferrentino
Cara is a Senior Program Advisor for the Foundation and manages grantmaking under the Democracy and Civic Initiatives program related to advancing our Regional Funding objective. For the past several years, she has been developing a portfolio of grants to help advance the goals of the Foundation's Regional Resilience Fund with a primary focus on community-based climate resilience efforts.
Before joining the Foundation, Cara worked for the City of Philadelphia’s transportation office, helping to launch and manage the city’s bike share program, Indego, which has become a national model for social equity and inclusivity. While with the City, Cara also worked to implement public space improvements in the public right-of-way, and to advance the City’s Complete Streets, traffic safety, and sustainability efforts.
Cara holds graduate degrees in city planning and land economy from MIT and the University of Cambridge, and an undergraduate degree in environmental science and policy from Harvard.
